Father & Son Foundation

REVIVING
PURPOSE

Becoming who you were called to be.

An eight-week curriculum preparing fathers for the inner work of returning to their children.

The Work
There is a moment in every father's life where everything is decided. It is not the moment he becomes a father by name. It is the moment he becomes one by presence.
The work begins with the one inside — the boy who never finished becoming, the man who his purpose called. Until that son is heard, the father cannot show up. Until the father shows up, nothing he tries will hold.
The Father and Son Foundation exists for that becoming.

The Problem

The window is being missed.

Nearly two out of every three men return to prison within three years of release. Family contact is one of the strongest predictors of whether a man stays out — but only when he is prepared for it.

Without preparation, reunification destabilizes the household and pushes him back inside.

Almost no program in this country does the work in the window where it matters most — the eight weeks before he returns to his children.

The Solution

Eight weeks. Inner work. Real preparation.

An eight-week structured curriculum that prepares a father before he returns to his children. Built specifically for returning men and community fathers — not adapted from a generic class.

What we teach: self-awareness, emotional regulation, responsibility, boundaries, and how to lead from purpose when life is hard.

The inner work that determines whether a man can actually show up.

The Curriculum

The Four-Phase Arc

Phase 01
Foundation

The inward reckoning. Who am I beneath the survival?

Phase 02
Accountability

Sustained behavior over time. Can I be trusted with consistency?

Phase 03
Repair

Disciplined re-engagement. Can I show up without causing harm?

Phase 04
Reviving Purpose

The bridge into the lifelong community — where he continues becoming the man he was called to be, alongside other men committed to the same work, for the rest of his life.

"Every man in the program is also the son — the son who didn't get what he needed, or who got hurt, or who learned survival instead of stability. Until he goes back and meets that son in himself, he cannot truly father anyone else."
The Founder

Dejahn Washington

Founder & Executive Director

The Father & Son Foundation is a program of Reviving Purpose. It operates on two layers of meaning.

On the surface, the work is about the bond between a father and his child. Underneath, every man in the program is also the son.

Until he goes back and meets that son in himself, he cannot truly father anyone else.
